Search Engine Optimization Analyst

The Search Engine Optimization Analyst is responsible for keyword research strategies, site structure analysis, navigation, page construction and additional site audit recommendations for optimal search engine friendliness and indexing. Additionally, the Search Engine Optimization Analyst will have a strong understanding of search engine algorithms, requirements, reporting and analysis tools, and best practices as well as the ability to clearly communicate keyword and search engine strategies and results.

Specific Responsibilities May Include:

  • Works closely with internal business groups to understand client needs and business objectives
  • Stays abreast of ongoing search engine algorithm changes and understands how those changes affect existing search engine campaigns as well as future projects
  • Is able to clearly articulate search engine optimization best practices to colleagues and to clients
  • Strategizes and executes keyword identification research and presents analyses and recommendations to team
  • Provides input and collaborates with content developers to develop optimized website content
  • Researches inbound linking opportunities
  • Tracks campaign progress, generates status reports and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Supports ROI by campaign, site or category, including identification of methods for measuring success
  • Conducts SEO audits of client and competitor sites
  • Performs keyword research and analysis
  • Writes title tag, meta, alt-text and headline tag recommendations that support keyword research
  • Creates content modification recommendation documents
  • Strategizes and implements link building programs
  • Monitors the progress of campaigns using various reporting tools
  • Provides routine status reports to account team
  • Provides metrics tracking direction to development team
  • Validates and reports on metrics results

Qualifications, Experience and Education:

  • BA/BS in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2 to 3 years experience in supporting and implementing successful SEO campaigns
  • Online advertising experience in a digital agency setting
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with rigorous attention to detail
  • Experience organizing and working across multiple projects with cross-discipline team members 
  • Strong oral, written and visual communication skills
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS and internet usability principles
  • Knowledge of social media and its impact on SEO
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience utilizing Google Analytics, and other website analytics tools
  • Experience identifying and creating analytics tracking documentation
