CLEVELAND, Ohio (September 28, 2020) – Fahlgren Mortine, a national integrated communications company, promoted veteran Melissa Koski Carney to vice president, managing director of its Cleveland office earlier this year. Carney, who has spent her entire career at the agency, will focus on client retention and acquisition, employee development and agency marketing in support of Fahlgren Mortine’s continued growth in Northeast Ohio and nationally. Several of the area’s most recognizable brands collaborate with Fahlgren Mortine to solve various marketing and communications challenges.

Carney has been a rising star in the organization for many years according to Neil Mortine, president and CEO, Fahlgren Mortine.

“I remember first meeting Melissa more than 10 years ago, and I could tell she was a future leader in our organization,” Mortine said. “Melissa has the unique ability to quickly earn the respect of clients and colleagues through her genuine curiosity, heightened awareness of relevant surrounding influences, and application of modern integrated communications strategies, tactics and technologies. Melissa has been a driver within our organization since day one and I could not be more excited for the contributions she will make in her new role.”

Carney, who earned industry recognition in 2013 as one of the PR News “PR People to Watch” honorees, currently represents Fahlgren Mortine on the national PR Council Digital Community Board. Locally, Cleveland Professional Twenty-Thirty Club identified Carney as a “25 Under 35 Mover and Shaker” and the Cleveland Bridge Builders named her as part of its Class of 2013.

Outside of work, Carney spends her time volunteering as a Cleveland Marathon Ambassador, founding initiatives such as the Cleveland Social Media Club and @InTheCLE citizen voice social media account (Best Twitter Account: Cleveland Scene), blogging for Northeast Ohio Parent Magazine, and serving as Cleveland Chapter co-president of the Boston College Alumni Association.
